6 Reason Why You Shouldn’t Give Kids Sugar Before Bed.

#6. The energy increase they seem to get is beyond ridiculous. I mean how come I can’t have that kind of energy when I eat sugar.

#5. The delirium of pure craziness/silliness almost makes it worth it. ( I mean it does put anyone in a good mood that is around them. Seriously they laugh at anything. Example: they thought the word whip cream was drop on the floor, can’t breathe hilarious.) Why? I don’t know, but apparently when they were laughing that hard it was an infectious disease to which I caught, but that’s not the point here.

#4. When you ask them to do something like brush their teeth they can’t seem to comprehend what you tell them because the sugar has put a bubble around them making it impossible to concentrate. So don’t plan on accomplishing much in this department.

#3. Who knew that they could run that many circles in a living room without getting dizzy or running into eachother.  (I will mention here that they are not normally allowed to run in the house, but as previously stated by reason #4 all crap goes out the window with sugar.)

#2.Actually trying to get them to calm down……..hahahahahaha. Yeah Right!

     #1. You can’t be that stupid J

After about 4 hrs. you should be good to go. The sugar crash has officially kicked in and you have to muster up the energy that you can and get them to bed.  Now, being I have no idea about this from any personal experience (Shhhhh….), I can honestly say I wouldn’t recommend it!

Bad Example

I mentioned in a previous blog that I was moving soon. Well, I have officially moved into my new place with help from great friends.  The pain of moving is awful.

I had to make things interesting somehow………  I was trying to get all the things from my upstairs brought downstairs and into the garage. I figured that this would help organize things along with having everything ready to just throw in the back of the Uhaul and go.  One of my brothers had come over to help a couple nights before the move. He had just taken a boxspring down the stairs. He comes around the corner at the bottom of the steps to find me at the top of the stairs with the mattress laying flat on the top of the steps. (It was a twin mattress so it fit perfectly) He looked at me, laughed, and said, “This ought to be interesting!”  I will mention here also that I left the plastic on the matresses because well sometimes little kids have accidents, and I want to preserve the mattresses until that stage is completely out grown. Anyway, I am sitting on the mattress at the top of the stairs trying to decide if this is the most genius idea I have ever come up with, or was the end of the mattress going to hit the stairs and catapult me forward and boom…boom….boom all the way down. I’m pretty sure my brother was hoping for the latter. (Not to get hurt, but for a good laugh) I decided to go for it! I grabbed the plastic on the mattress and scooted forward until I took off. I flew down the stairs with my hair flying behind me all the way to the bottom of the steps. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!  My youngest son of course, the daredevil, came around the corner just in time to see me flying down the stairs on the mattress. He yelled, “That is so cool! Can I do it now?” To which any great parent would reply, “No, I’m sorry. It’s to dangerous.”  Let me tell you, if my kids had been with their dad, I would have definitely done it again!

Thankfully the move is officially over. I am all moved in, and unpacked except for 2 boxes in my kids room. It’s nice to have great friends and family help me move.

Oh, and as I was looking on here for a pic to put up here of a person sliding on a mattress down the stairs; I found so many ideas how to make it more fun and interesting. Some of the people are crazy, but who am I to speak? It’s probably a good thing I moved into a single story house.
